The family announces with sorrow the passing of Andrew Finnerty, Friday February 10, 2023 at the age of 66, in Timmins, Ontario. Predeceased by his parents Basil and Freda Finnerty. Loving brother to Alice Kielly (Bill) of LaSalle Ontario, Ann Cuzzolino (Dan) of Sault Ste Marie, Randall (Loren) of Montreal, and Neil (Deb) of LaSalle. Andy also leaves behind his loving nephews and niece as well as many close cousins and friends. Andy met life with great optimism; always greeting people with a friendly smile. He loved his family, meeting with friends for coffee, listening to music and being with people. Andy was well known in his community with routine visits to his church, library, coffee shop and mall; always happy to stop and chat about local events, the weather, sports or just a quick laugh showing his good sense of humour. Andy had a kind heart and would always look for the best in everyone. He will be dearly missed by many. A very special thank you to all the supportive staff over the years from Community Living and other organizations who helped Andy realize his dream of living an independent life. Your kindness and compassion meant the world to Andy and his family. Life is precious. To honour Andy, share a pizza or take a friend for coffee. That would have made Andy smile. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 31st, 2023 at 11am at Sacred Heart Church. Interment of ashes will follow at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. A luncheon will take place at 1pm at the Vic Mahoney Centre. Remembrance donations to Community Living Timmins, 166 Brousseau Ave, Timmins, P4N 5Y2, would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME.
