Obituary for Annie DelCol

With her daughter(s) by her side, Annie went to Heaven on July 16th at 6 pm at the age of 98. Her daughter(s) were with her day and night for the week before she made her journey to meet her Lord.

Annie grew up on a farm near Clute Ontario, the third youngest of 7 children. She truly was one of those people who walked 5 miles uphill in a blizzard to school. On bitterly cold days, her dad would pick them up with a horse and sleigh.

Mom could make a penny go a long way, make a supper for 8 out of nearly nothing.
She had huge compassion for those less fortunate than we were and always saw the best in all she met. Her motto was ‘if you can’t say something nice, don't say nothin at all’!!! She loved little children and seeing a child made her smile the most. She always liked to take off their socks and look at their little feet!

Annie and John raised six children Cheryl Lafontaine (Dennis), Vi Jewitt, Chris DelCol (Darquise), Lorri Rennie (George), Terri LeBrun (Dennis) and Taral Brousseau (Rodney) and she cherished her 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Everyone she touched, will remember her sense of humor, kindness, loving manor and beautiful smile.

She is predeceased by her Husband John. She will be sorely missed by her sister-in-law and lifelong friend Angelica.

We thank the Golden Manor for their care and compassion. Mom was on East 3 and then West 1 where the staff became part of our family. It is hard to properly thank the people who cared so much for our mom but thank you all. Shelley, Leanne, Merinna, Juha, Gina, Pam, Leigh, Lilliana, Michelle, Crystal, to name just a few.

As per mom's wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. Cremation is taking place and there will be a private internment. If you wish to make a remembrance donation, we ask that you donate to St. Matthew’s Cathedral, Timmins. Mom was an active member of St. Matthew's all her life. She used to ‘polish the brass’ with the altar guild girls. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. Online donations or condolences can be made at www.lessardstephens.com

Mom, you are with God now in Heaven where you belong. We know you will be watching us from above and your light will continue to shine on everyone.
