Obituary for Arthur Henri Joseph Giguere

The family announces with sorrow his death on Sunday May 8, 2022 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 79.

Dear husband of late Joyce Giguere (nee Jeffrey). Beloved father of Louise Giguere, June Tessier (Dale), late Raymond Giguere, and Anna Tessier (late David); loving grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Dear brother of late Emilien Giguere (Cecile), late Louis-Gilles Giguere, Hélène Theriault (late André), Marie Fortier (Rheal), late Urbain Giguere (late June), Rosaire Giguere (Valerie), late Raymond Giguere, late Diane Giguere, Real Giguere (Susan), Rita Giguere, Normand Giguere (late Della), late Laurent Giguere, and late Marcel Giguere.

Predeceased by his parents Elzear Giguere and Irene Giguere (nee Bourgeois).

Art was a man of many hats; not only was he a son, father, brother, husband, uncle, friend, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was an incredible problem solver, mechanic, mixer man, beater engineer, builder equipment operator, an all-around jack of all trades. His passion in life was fishing and mechanics, and his boat and skidoo were his pride and joy. With all of these combinations of skills and talents, Art was a modest man who had the biggest heart. He was the caretaker of his family day or night. Art loved and supported his family and took great joy in spending time with them at his home, his paradise.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 12, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME. Remembrance donations to SickKids Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
