Obituary for Donald Wickstead
The family announces with sorrow his death on Sunday February 13, 2022 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury at the age of 68.
Dear husband of Lina Wickstead (Claveau). Loving father of Rachelle Wickstead (Ronny Bourgon), Brigit Chase (Chris), Genevieve Costa (Frank), and Nancy Wickstead. Dear grandfather of Alicia, Cole, Kamryn, Jaxon and James. He is also survived by his sisters Arleen Newhoffer and Ingrid March. Dear brother-in-law of late Donald Claveau, Pauline Fortier (Arthur), Aurel Claveau (Lorraine), Huguette Castilloux (Hubert), late Raymond Claveau (Diane), Réjean Claveau, Michel Claveau (Madeleine), and Gaston Claveau. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Bernice Wickstead, and his step-mother Norma.
Donald was an electrician by trade. He worked in the mines for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved camping, fishing and hunting.
He was always full of life and very talkative with everyone. He had a thirst for knowledge and loved to share it with others.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Friday February 18, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Social Venue. COVID-19 restrictions will be in place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
