Obituary for Dr. Alfred Cooper
The family announces with great sorrow his death on Friday January 13, 2023 at the Golden Manor at the age of 91.
Dear husband of Margaret Cooper. Loving father of Lorna Cooper, Nancy (Wayne Brown) Cooper, and Marlene Cooper.
Dear grandfather of Michael, Samuel, Harrison, Jonah, Madison, Tosh, Riley, and Geneva; great-grandfather of Darwin, Lowyn, Meegwin, and Jack.
Predeceased by his parents Alphonse and Adeline Mishibinijima, his daughter Deborah Cooper-Normand, his son Christopher Cooper, as well all of his siblings.
Alfred loved his family. He was devoted to caring for his wife in his later years. He also loved medicine which he practiced for almost 60 years in Timmins. He enjoyed fishing, boating in Manitoulin, playing bridge and cribbage, listening to country music and watching movies and hockey games. He was a big Habs fan. He also loved dogs and cats.
Funeral mass will be held on Monday January 16, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment at Timmins Memorial Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home.
