It is with heavy hearts that the family announces with sorrow his passing on Wednesday May 25, 2022, at the age of 81.
Gerard leaves behind his beloved wife and life partner Colette, his 4 children Linda, Mario (Judy), Dan and Sylvie. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren David, Amy (Brit), Josh (Ashley), Robyn, (Matt), Evan, Kyle, Jocelyn and Brooklyn, and by 8 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers Raoul and Joe, his sister Nellie, Michèle and Diane, as well as many members of the Lapointe family.
Predeceased by his son-in-law Bob Cheff and his grand-daughter Jamie Moore.
His passion for his gardening was remembered by all who left his home with bags of fresh vegetables. Nobody loved picking blueberries like he did. Bears would stand by in awe of his quick and clean picking. He loved his hunting and fishing also.
Gerry finally retired from the Carpenter’s Union but worked just as hard on a daily basis at his home. He was known for his great sense of humour and loved making us all laugh. He will be sadly missed by all.
Gerry and Colette were 1 of 4 couples who were founders of “Les amis qui dansent” in 1984.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday June 11, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL which will be livestreamed on the funeral home Facebook page. To view the livestream
