Obituary for Jeanne Lajoie (Toal)

With heavy hearts and deep sadness, the family of Jeanne Lajoie announces her passing at the Timmins and District Hospital, St. Mary’s site at the age of 74 on October 30, 2022.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Alfred Lajoie, her children Nicole (Dan) Ethier, Carole (Eric) Lajoie, Suzanne Lajoie and her furry friend Maya. Treasured grandmother of Morgan, Sean, and Maxime. She had a place in her heart for Dan Junior (Brittney) Lajoie, Liam and Sophie. Still left to mourn are her sisters and brothers Jack (late Fran) Toal, Eddy (Robin) Toal, Gail (Marcel) Cardinal, Lynda (Eddy) Rosevear, Roger (late Ann) Toal, Joyce (late Larry) Levis, Rocky (Nicole) Toal and Karen (Peter) Stewart, her sisters-in-law Shirley Toal, Jeannine Toal and Mary Toal. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother Gloria Blanchard (nee Girard), her father Thomas Toal, her sisters Shirley Toal, Doreen Belaire, Mary Anne St. Jean and her brothers Jim Toal, Stanley Toal and Don Toal.
Jeanne was a homemaker most of her life and she adored caring for her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. Because of her strength, courage, and determination, she continued to take an active role in their lives until her passing. She will continue to watch over them as their guardian angel.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the excellent care, kindness, and comfort that she received throughout the years by many healthcare providers. Special thanks to Dr. Auger, Dr. Gillies, and the Timmins and District Hospital staff at both the hospital and St. Mary’s sites.

The family will receive friends on Friday November 4, 2022, from 7-9 pm at LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME. Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday November 5, 2022, in the funeral home chapel, which will be livestreamed on the funeral home’s Facebook Page.
