Obituary for Jeannine Bastien
It is with great sadness that the family announces the unexpected passing of Jeannine Yvonne Bastien (nee Langlois), on Saturday April 22nd 2023 at the age of 81 years. Daughter of the late Wilfred and Yvonne Langlois. Loving wife for 41 years to Roger Bastien. Dear mother of J.P. Hurtubise (Natalie), Reggie Hurtubise (Mary), Anne Riendeau (Denis), Albert Hurtubise (Lisa), Suzanne Guindon (Wayne), Richard Hurtubise (Georgina), Linda Bastien, Michel Bastien and Anne Bastien. Predeceased by her son Daniel Bastien and daughter and son-in-law Dianne and Rick Cormier. Jeannine will also be greatly missed by her 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sisters Pierrette Hurtubise (late Marcel), Nicole Hannah (Ron), Paulette Piquette (late Richard), Suzanne Thomas and her brothers Robert Langlois (Wendy), Ron Langlois (Fran) and Yvan Langlois (Brenda). Loving sister-in-law to late Rheal Bastien (Therese), late Normand Bastien (Denise), Phillipe Bastien (late Estelle), Laurent Bastien (late Therese), late Sue Ironside, Jacqueline Pronovost (Marcel) and Denise Fournier (Kim).
Jeannine was a loving person that enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to dance and listen to Roger and others play music. Jeannine had an infectious laugh that would lift the spirits of everyone around her. She passed in the arms of her husband Roger at the Golden Manor, which was a fitting ending to her story. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Golden Manor, East Wing 2nd floor; they made her last months and moments memorable for her.
Cremation will take place and the family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
