1951 - 2022
Nous avons le regret de vous annoncer le décès de M. Jocelyn Chouinard le mardi 18 janvier 2022 à l’âge de 70 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Carol (née Racicot) de Timmins, ses fils Yvan (Sylvie) de Timmins, Pascal (Nelson) de Québec et Guillaume (Elaine) de St-Eusèbe, ses filles Shannon (Michel) et Crystal de Timmins. Il sera aussi énormément manqué par ses 9 petits-enfants Alain, Joshua, Makayla, Nathan, Zoey, Hunter, Émile, Nolan et Tom. Il laisse de beaux souvenirs dans le cœur de ses frères et sœurs Roland (Micheline), Jean-Yves (Évangeline), Madeleine (Roma), Gaston (Brigitte), Nicole (Michel), Jacinthe (Paul), Linda (Claude), Lise, Rino (Mariette) et sa belle-sœur Jocelyne. Sans oublier ses belles-sœurs Linda (Marc) Bilodeau, Diane Racicot et Barbara Racicot ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Il fût précédé dans la mort par ses parents Fernand et Rose (née Michaud), ses frères Gilles, Lucien et Donald Chouinard ainsi que par ses beaux-parents Claude et Dora (née Leblanc) Racicot.
Tous et toutes se souviendront de lui comme un grand entrepreneur, un homme travaillant et une personne enjouée avec un sens de l’humour. Il aimait beaucoup passer du temps avec sa famille et son chien Forrest. Jocelyn pratiquait la chasse, la pêche et il était un amateur de plein air. Il prenait grand plaisir à effectuer des travaux dans la cour et fabriquer des choses dans son garage.
Natif de St-Eusèbe à Québec, il a été élevé sur une ferme familiale et il a travaillé comme bûcheron dans l’Abitibi et au Maine. Ensuite, il est allé au Nouveau-Brunswick pour travailler à son compte comme camionneur forestier et en raison de la récession, il est déménagé en Ontario. En 1988, il achète sa première niveleuse (grader) et fonda la compagnie Chouinard Grading inc. En 1999, il forme une compagnie avec son fils ainés Yvan sous le nom de Superior Grading inc.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Jocelyn Chouinard on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the age of 70. He leaves behind his wife Carol (nee Racicot) of Timmins; his sons Yvan (Sylvie) of Timmins, Pascal (Nelson) of Québec, and Guillaume (Elaine) of St-Eusèbe; his daughters Shannon (Michel) and Crystal of Timmins. He will also be greatly missed by his 9 grandchildren Alain, Joshua, Makayla, Nathan, Zoey, Hunter, Émile, Nolan, and Tom. Jocelyn leaves beautiful memories in the hearts of his brothers and sisters Roland (Micheline), Jean-Yves (Évangeline), Madeleine (Roma), Gaston (Brigitte), Nicole (Michel), Jacinthe (Paul), Linda (Claude), Lise, Rino (Mariette), and his sister-in-law Jocelyne. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Linda (Marc) Bilodeau, Diane Racicot, and Barbara Racicot, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Fernand and Rose (nee Michaud), his brothers Gilles, Lucien, and Donald Chouinard, as well as his parents-in-law Claude and Dora (nee Leblanc) Racicot.
Jocelyn will be remembered by all as a successful entrepreneur, a hard-working man, and a cheerful person with a great sens of humour. He loved spending time with his family and his dog Forrest. An avid outdoorsman, Jocelyn enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took great pleasure in doing work in the yard and building things in his garage.
Born in St-Eusèbe, Québec, he was raised on a family farm and worked as a lumberjack in Abitibi and Maine. He then went on to work in New-Brunswick as self-employed forestry trucker and due to the recession, he moved to Ontario. In 1988, he purchased his first grader and founded Chouinard Grading inc. In 1999, he formed a company with his eldest son Yvan, under the name of Superior Grading inc.
We would like to thank the nurses at Bayshore Timmins for their service and care that they provided to Jocelyn at home.
