Obituary for Lillian Dobson (Zobetz)
The family announces with great sorrow her death on Saturday March 25, 2023 at the age of 85 years. Loving mother to David Dobson and Cheryl Dobson, beloved sister to Edward Zobetz (Georgina), dear friend to Andy Ilersich and survived by her aunt Nancy Bilyk, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Toronto, Minnesota, Western Canada, Australia and Slovenia. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Francis Zobetz and by the father of her children Mike Dobson.
Lillian taught in Toronto and Timmins. She opened the minds of many young children to the joy and wonder of reading. Lillian used her many talents to contribute to different groups, mainly Timmins and District Hospital Auxiliary, Timmins Volunteer at TDH, CWL at St. Anthony’s Cathedral, German Club and Craft Group at Sacred Heart Church. She loved to travel, knit, sew, quilt, do some gardening and shop especially for clothes, chocolate, and anything sweet.
A special thank you to the staff at St.Mary’s Gardens (hospital site), Extendicare Kamiskotia Unit and the hospice at Timmins and District Hospital.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 29th, 2023, at 12pm (noon) in the funeral home chapel, which will be livestreamed on the funeral home Facebook page. Remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
