Condolence From: Mike and Diane Mulryan
Condolence: Dear Cecile,Bruno,Dino and all of Lou's Family: Please accept our sincere sympathy for your loss. Few people i know truly "lived" a life like Lou.In 90 plus years he stayed active and involved each and every day. He and Cecile raised a fine family and were always together , and giving to the community every day. Like many others , Lou had a profound influence on me , and although he never taught me in school ,he educated me in many ways. I will so miss our talks/debates and pleasant teasing of each other. He was a man of integrity , honesty, hard work ,faith and values. He has left you all with so many memories that will always keep him around and in you all, spiritually ,forever. He was a man who has left a lasting legacy not only for you , but the community he so adored. May God receive him quickly , and may you all remain in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Michael and Diane Mulryan

Condolence From: Schumacher Day Minor Hockey Association
Condolence: Mrs. Battochio, Dino, Bruno and the entire Battochio family While words cannot express the impact of the loss of our tireless leader, Lou was first and foremost a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Schumacher Day Minor Hockey is what it is today, because of Lou. His impact and legacy will be felt every time a volunteer steps on the ice, at the Mac, to guide, mentor and teach a child the great game of hockey. Lou's dedication to the youth of our community knew no bounds. He loved to teach...whether it was the players, the parents, coaches or volunteers. SDMHA will carry on with Lou's guiding principle, that we are here to provide a safe environment for the kids and any child who wants to play this great game, should be given the opportunity. On behalf of current and past Board members, volunteers, and players, "Thank you Lou" for all you have given to us over the decades. RIP Luigi...until we meet again

Condolence: I wish I could find the words to say How deeply we feel your sadness today. Lou will be remembered and missed by many And forever loved and cherished by you, Cécile and family. May the memory of good times together bring you all comfort. May his love soften your grief and help you all through it! Lou is standing tall in heaven...No more pain! No more cane! That is the picture he would most likely want us to retain! His charisma, wisdom and gentle personality will be remembered. Anyone who knew Lou would have many moments to be treasured. It's hard to say goodbye...Lou was really a great guy! I truly believe he will be checking on us from up high. When the guys at the coffee shop "discuss" politics or hockey, Lou will,no doubt, send them his "opinion"...of course, quietly! Dear Cécile , Our deepest condolences to you and your boys, Bob and Diane

Condolence: Cecile, Dino, Bruno and Family: I am so sorry to learn of Lou's death. I got to know Lou over the years through our hockey connection as well as socially. He certainly was a person of character, dignity and possessed very strong morals and religious beliefs. The family was his world. Lou's involvement and commitment to the community along with dedication to kids and sports made him a pillar of strength in Northern Ontario. His contributions were well respected and appreciated. Some people cannot be replaced. I know you have many special memories to help through this difficult time. I send my thoughts and prayers. Joe Drago

Condolence From: William Litchfield
Condolence: Well, Lou, I didn't expect you to take me seriously when I said I didn't attend Sacred Heart because you were always sitting with Sis in the seat I wanted. I'm really sorry that you thought it necessary to give it up. I expect that it will be empty for awhile until someone who had your faith will occupy it. You deserved the title of Mr. Schumacher because you were a man for all seasons and for all people. Anne and I extend our heartfelt condolences to all the families and relatives for the loss of a really good man. Bill
