It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Marcel Melanson age 83 at The Timmins and District Hospital. Marcel was the eldest son of Camille and Delina (Giroux). Survived by the love of his life Lea (Savard). Marcel and Lea shared 59 years of marriage together, they raised three children, son Camille, and daughters Anne (Richard Secord), Suzette, (Brian Boyd). He was the proud grandfather of five grand-children Julie Melanson predeceased 1991, Tamara Boyd, (Mickey), Andre Secord (Chelsea) Joshua Boyd, Remi Secord (Casandra), a beautiful great-grand-daughter Acelynn and new baby Secord coming in July. Dear beloved brother of Imelda (late Elie Brunette), Yvonne (late Gaston Rochette) Yvette (Marcel Payette) both predeceased, Corrinne (late Fernand Courchesne), Cecile (late Richard St-Germain). Edgar (Cecile), Cyril (late Irene) and late Aurel. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and in-laws in the Savard family.
Dad was a talented carpenter who enjoyed many hours in his workshop, we are very proud of all the furniture he built over the years. Throughout the years he enjoyed trapping, fishing, hunting and a good game of cards.
Dad was also a great storyteller, he shared stories about his childhood and his father childhood in New Brunswick, his hardships in life and everything in between, these stories will always be treasured. Until we meet again, rest in peace Dad.

The family would like to say thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Timmins and District Hospital for their kindness and compassion in our father final days.

Cremation has taken place and as per Dad’s wishes there will not be visitation or services. A graveside ceremony will take place at the Gogama Cemetery later date.
