VAILLANCOURT, Normand
1938-2022
It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 83 years. Beloved husband of 60 years to Claudette (Nee Doyon). He leaves behind his children Gerald (Sonia) and Mario (Terry), grand-children Jessica (Thierry), Lee Ann, Daniel (Jessica), and great-grandchildren Anne-Sophie, Mikael, Landon, Samuel, Chester and Delilah. He also leaves behind his brother Roger (Gaëtane) and his sister Liliane. He is predeceased by his parents Camille and Rose-Aimée Vaillancourt, his brothers Henri, Donald, Jean-Paul, as well as his sister Alice.
Normand enjoyed the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were some of his many passions. He was very skilled in wood working and had a keen interest in building models. He loved his family and to laugh. He was very involved with St-Joseph Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Normand was a civilian with the Department of National Defense, which he was very proud of. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at St-Joseph Church. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

C’est avec beaucoup de tristesse que la famille annonce son décès, entouré de sa famille, le mercredi 30 mars 2022, à l’hôpital de Timmins et du district, à l’âge de 83 ans. Époux bien-aimé de 60 ans de Claudette (Née Doyon). Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Gerald (Sonia) et Mario (Terry) ses petits-enfants Jessica (Thierry), Lee Ann, Daniel (Jessica), et arrière-petits-enfants Anne-Sophie, Mikael, Landon, Samuel, Chester et Delilah. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil son frère Roger (Gaëtane) et sa sœur Liliane. Il est prédécédé par ses parents Camille et Rose-Aimée Vaillancourt, ses frères Henri, Donald, Jean-Paul, ainsi que sa sœur Alice.
Normand aimait le plein air. La chasse et la pêche étaient parmi ses nombreuses passions. Il était très habile dans la menuiserie et avait un vif intérêt pour la construction de modèles. Il aimait sa famille et rire. Il était très impliqué avec la paroisse St-Joseph et membre des Chevaliers de Colomb. Normand était civil avec le ministère de la Défense nationale, dont il était très fier. Il nous manquera beaucoup et restera toujours dans nos cœurs.
La messe des funérailles aura lieu à 11h, le samedi 2 avril 2022, à l’église St-Joseph. Vos témoignages de sympathie peuvent se traduire par un don à la société canadienne du cancer.
