Obituary for Tarja Eliisa Italuoma
It is with deepest regret the family announces the passing of their daughter and sister Tarja at the Timmins and District Hospital, surrounded by her family, at the age of 42. She was predeceased by her grandparents Bill and Kathleen Stephens and her mumu Saimi Ranta. She is survived by her parents Timo, Anne (Sam), her brother Vesa and pappa Esko Ranta. Also survived by cousins; the Kolli Family, late Vuokko (Eddie), Liisa (late Bob), Terttu (Alex), Marketta (Lester), Raimo, Reijo (Mary); the Bunker Family, Aunt Josie (Tom) cousins Jason, Tim and Jennifer; the L’Heureux family, Theresa (Late Paul), Marcel (Maddy), Julie (Laurier), Lucille (Dan), Pauline (Jocelyne) and Annette (Andre).
Tarja was a very loving, caring and adventurous person. She was always willing to give a helping hand to everyone. She loved her sports. She figure skated for years earning 3 gold medals, one in each discipline and going to Ontario Northern Sectionals placing in 4th. Tarja also enjoyed playing basketball, snowboarding, snowmobiling and curling. She had a passion for relaxing at the cottage all year round and playing with her dog Skye who will miss her very much.
A special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at T.D.H. who cared for Tarja during her lengthy stay. She will be missed by family and friends forever. As per her wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. Remembrance donations in her memory to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home.
