Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert Jones can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Robert James Jones

Robert  James  Jones
Passed away on June 22, 2016. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia (Landers) of 49 years. He will be dearly missed by his two sons Bob Jr. (Christine) and Barry of Timmins, and his brother Raymond (Connie) of New Liskeard. Predeceased by his mother and father May and Carl Jones, his brothers Everett, Wes (Helen) of Monteith, and his sister Shirley Campbell (Don) of Brandon Manitoba. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and the residents of Chateau Georgian. Robert worked for 39 years with the Ministry of Transportation as a Patrol Supervisor and retired in 1985. He was Chairman of the Quarter Century Club for the Province of Ontario for Northern Ontario for 9 years. In earlier years, Robert enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He spent many happy times in his garden growing vegetables and fruit trees, and also enjoyed the wildlife and nature of country living at Baker Lake, Timmins. Robert was a very kind and gentle man with a positive outlook and attitude. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Chateau Georgian for many years of loving care and compassion. Thank you to his family doctor, Dr. K.C. Lim, Dr. Cano of the Sudbury Northeast Cancer Centre, and the Palliative Care team at Timmins and District Hospital. Donations to a charity of your choice are sincerely appreciated. As per Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A family graveside internment will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home
