I remember back in the early 90s , patrick and I became friends when we were both living in clarence creek ontario, basically neighbors we would always meet up,he would come to my house we play games, sports all sorts of things kids did back then. One very special memory still sticks with me after all these years, we entered the bourget soapbox dIrby together, so Pat would come over to my place to build this soapbox we didn't have any wood so what we did we took a old sleigh that my grandfather had built for me took apart the radio flyer for the tires and used the wagon handle as a steering wheel. After multiple failed attempts at stopping we realized we needed brakes, so we took some bike brakes we had and attached them to this soapbox, it worked! On the day of the race we came in last place but we weren't upset at all because friendship built this thing, and had a great time doing it. It has been years since last I've seen Patrick but I won't forget the friendship we had, he was a kind person and I just wish I could talk to him again like we were when we were kids.
